Mid term holidays are gonna be over and its back to school in a few hours time. 2 weeks of holidays is just too short. Its back to looking at the fucking laptop in the mornings and making my brain work a little more. During the past 2 weeks or so I've mostly been hardcore gaming. Hardcore gaming is an activity for someone who lacks love.
Highlights of some of the nice things that I remember from the back of my head happening during the holidays:

Dinner at some Thai place in Bugis. No offence to the people of the Kingdom of Siam but Thai food is just not something my tongue fancies. Sawadikarp! Tom yam is still ok though.

The dinner was to celebrate my uncle's golden jubilee. I am not a tall person but it feels good to be towering above my not so tall family members.
Next up was soccer at the Cage with the guys and Mr down under good day mate Herry. Plus shsha sessions at Arab Street. There was this one session where I felt really zoned out or in the zone? Almost close to stoning. Well not that I rarely stone myself anyway. Even the Smoking Dragon admitted to feeling lightheadedness from the herbal smoke that we had. Herbal, not ganja.

Donnie Brasco was the first Blu Ray movie that I watched and I got to watch it in full glory 1080p! It stars Johnny Depp(before he became a sellout pirate) as undercover FBI agent who infiltrates the Cosa Nostra. Al Pacino stars as Depp's mentor. The movie is directed by some guy named Mike Newell if I'm not wrong who later went on to direct one of the Harry Potter movies. From directing a mafia movie to a more accessible movie. Not bad.
Video quality of the movie is superb. The violence is top notch too. There was this scene of Johnny Depp suntanning under the Miami sun and I could see all the details of his face like his pimples, marks and so on. Sound quality is good too. Dialogues and gun shot sounds are crystal clear. Paramount Pictures should remaster The Godfather movies into blu ray too. It is stll too early to declare the death of dvds. But dvds have been a loyal and long serving media format. Because of dvds, I was introduced to all the great films and movies of the past.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots title screen. The final game of the Metal Gear Saga. I've been waiting 4 years for this game to be released. The first Metal Gear Solid game blew me away in terms of storyline and gameplay. MGS made me play other video games for its storyline.

Cut scene graphics for MGS4 looks excellent but unfortunately I cant say the same for its gameplay graphics. Only time will tell if it has a good storyline because the fucking holidays is too short, I can only commit myself to finish up one game.

Last few legs of my holidays were spent trying to achieve 100% completion for GTA 4. Thats me, the main character Niko Bellic with an RPG(anti tank rocket launcher) on top of his shoulder, standing beside my trusted Maverick helicopter and that teeny weeny glowing orangey red thing at the bottom centre of the screen is a pigeon. Also known as a flying rat. One of the requirements to get 100% in the game is to fucking kill 200 motherfucking pigeons scattered throughout the 3 islands. That was the last of the pigeons which stood in my way of Grand Theft greatness. Now should I use the RPG to blast the fucker bird brain to hell for wasting my time? Or should I snipe the feathery scum instead? I chose the latter and they better reward me with a fucking trophy when the 2.40 firmware comes out!!!
Now if only I could channel all that enthusiasm and commitment to my studies as well..
Currently I'm waiting for the Spain vs Italia match to start. I fancy both teams and I expect the Italians to go through because they always get the job done in the end. Fuck man school starts at 9am tomorrow. Barring any fuck ups it will be the last leg of education in NP for me. People my age are done with serving the nation or are about to enter national service and I'm still not done with getting a diploma.
